NAVIGATING CHANGE,
PIONEERING GROWTH

Rob Eggebrecht built his career on resilience—pioneering and thriving through relentless change.

His roots in tech and business trace back to his father, Lew Eggebrecht, a dairy farmer turned tech pioneer who helped architect the original IBM PC and later served on the board of Broadcom. That upbringing gave Rob a unique early lens into global business and innovation. By the time he graduated from the University of Denver with a degree in International Business — including time at the Goethe-Institut in Germany and Copenhagen Business School — he’d already lived in 13 different places. He learned how to adapt fast and read any room.

His early career spanned international assignments in Japan, London, and Copenhagen, bridging advanced networking technologies and business strategy on a global scale. From point-of-sale systems to the telco boom with Qwest and Level 3, he played key roles in launching global carrier services and the academic and research backbone of the Internet, including Internet2 and Texas’s TexAN 2000 project.

That momentum led Rob into early-stage startups: Virtela Communications, where he helped launch international managed VPN services, and Gemplex, where he led global business development before its acquisition by India’s VSNL.

ENTREPRENEUR, BUILDER,
EXIT OPERATOR

Rob founded his first company, BEW Global, in 2002 with $300K of personal capital. That business pioneered data loss prevention services, eventually rebranding as InteliSecure. Under Rob’s leadership, the company became one of Vontu’s largest global partners. When Vontu was acquired by Symantec, InteliSecure scaled to $30M+ in revenue, 200+ employees, and global operations across the US, UK, and Saipan. The company was sold to Proofpoint in 2019 for $62M.

Following this first exit, Rob took a brief break to ski with his kids in Vail before joining Deloitte as a Principal. There, he launched the Cloud Data Risk practice, helping enterprises adopt next-generation technologies like Netskope, Zscaler, SkyHigh, and BitGlass. During this time, he also advised OverWatchID, a startup in the identity and access management space, which was acquired by SailPoint for $21M.

Rob’s entrepreneurial drive soon pulled him back to the founder’s seat with the launch of Cloudrise in October 2019. Within months of its first funding, COVID-19 upended the world. Over the following years, the company weathered interest rates climbing from near-zero in 2020–2021 to over 5% by mid-2023, as well as the global uncertainty of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in February 2022 and the Israel–Gaza conflict beginning in October 2023. Despite these challenges, Cloudrise grew steadily, raised three rounds of capital, expanded through two acquisitions in the US and UK, and built a reputation as a trusted partner in cloud security and data protection. In late 2024, Cloudrise was acquired by Exclusive Networks in a highly successful transaction.

Across these ventures and advisory roles, Rob has helped create more than $100 million in enterprise value. Today, he is building his third company, EggNest.ai, an AI-native services firm focused on implementation, governance, and enablement.

He builds with grit, perseveres through adversity, and creates lasting enterprise value.

EggNest-Green Quote Mark

Great companies aren’t built by one founder — they’re built by strong teams with clear direction. My role is to build the foundation, empower the people, and create value that lasts beyond me.

WHAT KEEPS ROB GROUNDED

Outside the boardroom, Rob is all-in on life. He’s a devoted husband, proud father of two grown kids, and the kind of guy who believes mountain air, music, and meaning are the antidotes to burnout. A lifelong skier and mountain biker, he spends as much time as possible chasing fresh lines in Colorado, British Columbia, and Japan — though lately, the challenge is just keeping up with the kids.

Music is his recharge. Uplifting trance and melodic sets are his go-to soundtrack for reflection, focus, and flow — whether on a backcountry drive or pushing through another startup sprint.

Nearly a decade into recovery, Rob also gives back quietly but consistently, supporting others navigating the path out of addiction. It’s a part of his story he never hides — a source of strength that keeps him grounded, grateful, and growing.
